Sure that would be nice just tell me where to go to on my radio. Although I only have 2m. if you tell me where to go to I will be there. I will have to brush up on my procedures before I can get in contact.:)
thanks

I did some research on IRLP repeaters near to Harrah.
W5PAA IRLP repeater (http://www.w5paa.org/)
W5PAA Node Page (http://status.irlp.net/IRLPnodedetail.php?nodeid=3761)
Their node is 3671. Local repeater frequency is 146.850
Del City ARC (http://www.delcityarc.org/)
Del CIty Node Page (http://status.irlp.net/IRLPnodedetail.php?nodeid=3867)
Node 3867. Local repeater is 145.250
Give these a shot. Also try to up grade and get on HF. That is more fun the IRLP

Thanks for the info. I think I will have to program my radio(not to mention my brain) to be able to make any contacts on a repeater. I am trying to figure it out right now. it looks like I need to go to bed for the night though so I should be on again in the morning if anyone wants to try to train me in that is going to be on the air then. I will get on here in the morning and give a time estimate update on when I will be able to be on the air.
thanks again

I will be trying my first contact later this evening I think. if anyone wants to I will be on later, just tell me where to be and when thanks. I am still trying to figure out my range on 2m and 440 with 5 watts of power so anyway thanks

KE5KWQ,
Don't take this as picking on you but just as FYI. The use of "HAMMER" to some is considered an insult, however even the term "HAM" gets a raised eyebrow from some but it is generally accepted, but to extend it to "HAMMER" will most likely get you negative comments.
This may be one Hell of a way of saying "WELCOME to AMATEUR RADIO " but you have chosen an avocation that can lead you to unlimited oppurtunities to learn and takes you down a path where you will meet friends the world over to whom you will enjoy their company the rest of your days.
BEST DX es GOOD LUCK # #73, # ORV

Dear OB KE5KWQ. #You are doing fine, acknowlegding your errors is the first step to becoming a first class ham. #I remember my first contact like it was yesterday. #I lived in Portland, Oregon and my first contact was a ham on 40 meter CW, he was in Fresno, California. #I still have the QSO card and it is better than if I had an Albania card (you will learn about that later in ham life). #Never give up, never, never give up learning all you can about this fantastic hobby. #You are a very lucky young man and have a lot of friends who want to help you along the way. #Some day you will be helping others too. Very 73, es gud luck #Rich KG7FS
PS: Be sure you get a first contacte QSL card!!!!

So true. I have been licensed since April 24, 1997 as a Technician. I am still learning the ins and outs of Amateur Radio. While I operate the WA6BAI IRLP/ Echolink nodes (8120/152747) for the local club, talking directly is soooooo much more fun. Picking up that DX station, tuning in, and having them respond is quite exhilirating. Over the past 10 years, I have had the experience of talking from California to the east coast, (DE, NC, NY) Alaska, and have heard Japan. BTW, my QTH is Visalia, CA, 35 miles SE of Fresno...
Even though I have been on the air for nearly ten years, I still ask questions. Even more so now. I upgraded to General last Saturday 02/24/2007 and have not been on HF except at Field Day.
My point is that one never quits learning.
