Quote[/b] ]Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice was pressed yesterday on whether the Bush administration missed an opportunity to improve relations with Iran in 2003...
I think I would have noticed if the Iranians had said, 'We're ready to recognize Israel.' . . . I just don't remember ever seeing any such thing."

Quote[/b] ]Last June, Rice appeared to confirm, in an interview with National Public Radio, that the White House had received the memo. "What the Iranians wanted earlier was to be one-on-one with the United States so that this could be about the United States and Iran," Rice said. State Department officials at that time did not dissuade reporters from interpreting her comments as referring to the 2003 fax.
Okay, as bad as it was before, yes it is, no it isn't??

Condi is a smart woman who has found herself in the den of pimps, thieves and liars.

The fact that the situation with Iran has come to this level is proof that the Bush administration follows a policy of READY, FIRE and AIM. Often times, they shoot off their own foot and sadly, their diplomacy can be described as using a 50mm machine gun to bludgeon someone to death. The best this administration can offer is inappropriate and wrongly timed responses when dealing with friend and foe alike.

Lets not forget before we can invite the Iranians to tea there is the settling of the little matter of kidnapping U.S. citizens and killing of U.S. Marines at our embassy.
Or are attacks of U.S. citizens just considered PC in the Liberal philosophy??

Ah, a typical knee-jerk response to a legitimate question. The same that we used to get when WMDs and Plamegate came up here. Orv, I don't have kids, and I don't know if you do, but I'd hate to be a parent and know that if this becomes a shooting war, that it could have been so easily averted.

So Did Condi Or Didn't She Know About This? Was there a chance to avert the situation we now find ourselves in? Was there a chance to talk rather than sabre rattle?

N2Nh,
Well John I do have kids and I want them to be able to stand straight and let the world know they are proud to be American.
I don't want them cowering in the corner hoping no one will attack them for being an American.

Not everyone in the World has rose colored glasses and looks at the world in a Liberal View.

There comes a time if you love what you have you must stand up and defend the right to have it, or there are those who are willing to deprive you of every thing !!

Logical fallacy of a red herring. Please answer the question; do you want your children going to war and possibly dying when war wasn't the only option?

It is true that these days, it is not unusual for Americans abroad, even in places like western Europe, to pass themselves off as Canadian, because they are too paranoid to let it be known that they are US citizens amidst a group of strangers in a foreign country.
