In yet another attempt to play nanny a NY State senator has proposed a law that would ban the use of cell phones, ipods, blackberry's or virtually any type of electronique device while crossing a street in a major city. Yet another absurd attempt by the englobulators to tell you how you must live your life.

I think a law requiring people to use common sense when crossing the street would do better.

That and enforcement of jaywalking laws.

I'm imagining if they did a study they would find that a good portion of the people who get hit are not in a marked crosswalk, which means its their own fault for stepping out in front of a moving vehicle and getting hit. Or, they are disobeying the traffic device telling them to wait and going anyway.

I wanted ESD to define socialism. He seems to bandy the term about quite a bit but doesn't seem to understand what it means. Especially when he applied the term to those who are clearly not socialists.

OUR "ANIMAL PATHS" [STREETS] . BEING BREED/BORN FASTER THAN OUR CARS CAN KILL THEM .

We watch "movies" for intertainment of those African beasts killing everthing they can catch. I wonder if Africans watch movies of the American carnage on our throughfares for "thrills".

It seems to me that there's a race going on between Bush and Blair,( hard right and hard left, what a mixture !) as to who is establishing the first police state, the US or the UK.

Is it not surprising that Putin, he of the old Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, has instituted less laws for the ordinary citizen in Russia, and stated today in Germany that the US government, as the only world superpower, is a danger to other countries.

While I will not stand foursquare behind either Bush or Blair in terms of policy endorsements, I do find it amusing that the illustrious former KGB thug offers such criticisms -- of anyone at all.

At the least, neither Mr Bush nor Mr Blair has yet to send a phial of polonium on a mission of "diplomacy."
