Privately owned rifles and shotguns must be kept at home and stored unloaded, disassembled or bound by a trigger lock or a similar device.
I wonder if the shooters, gang bangers or general criminals abide by this restriction? #Its amazing how government tries to tie the hands of law abiding citizens trying to protect themselves. #The police obviously can't and the gun ownership law is working against the very idea of self defense.

Register the guns during a 90 day period, then make unregistered guns illegal on pain of 15 years in prison.
1. Legally, I don't think that a city government can impose incarceration for more than 365 days, but I am not a lawyer and I did not stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night,
2. This will do absolutely nothing to solve the gun problem in D.C. The criminals will always have guns, and they know that the citizens of D.C. are prohibited from owning ready weapons, so the citizens are easy prey.
3. States with Castle Doctrine laws and no prohibition on the private ownership of firearms have seen gun crime DECREASE! But the anti-gun crowd wants you to register your guns, all the better to know who to take them from when the political wind changes again.
Of course, citizens who were stupid enough to re-elect Marion Berry as their mayor deserve the ineffective government they now "enjoy"

Nope. Marion Berry was stupid enough to get caught committing a crime on tape, but he hoodwinked the D.C. populace with the old gambit "Who you gonna believe, me, or your lyin' eyes".
