Sorry but I have to fix my Iambic key before I can work anyone on CW so I'm stuck using SSB for the time being. I'm running a Kenwood TS2000 at 100 watts but unfortunately my antenna is a single 2 meter Halo that I put on the roof this afternoon. Come spring time I plan on a long boom Yagi unless I get a few days where the temps here in NJ get warm again.

I'm located in Middlesex County, NJ which is about 20 miles Southwest of Manhattan and the grid is FN20vo

I usually can be found listening on 144.125 most of the time but if you want to set up a specific sked on a certain date/time/freq just send me an email at: ws2l@arrl.net

Thanks & 73's,
Dave

Hi Dave, I think you meant 144.200. If not, you should listen there, it's the calling freq. Your grid (FN20) has many active VHFers. During contests, it seems there is a never ending supply of points from there. I'm sure I will run into you sometime.

Good luck!

Dave (FN10)

Dave,

Thanks for the info, I don't know where I received the information but I thought 125 was the calling frequency.

Anyway, I can be found listening on 144.200 during the late afternoon and into the evening.

Thank you AB3BK (Dave) for correcting me on the calling frequency. I'm new to 2 meter weak signal operating so I am open to any and all tip & information.

Anyone wanting a sked with northern South Carolina on 2m SSB, email me at K4JF@arrl.net

I'm running 100 watts into an 11 el. yagi at 40 ft above a hilltop. #Should give decent range, but there are no locals here that I have found on 2m SSB.

I wouldn't mind doing something like this which part of single side band does this take on? Lower/Upper? I will do this as a mobile though

Unless it is satalite, all 2m ssb activety is usb.

And horizontally polarized, which would make it a bit tougher for mobile.

We've got some good stations up in FN25...though I don't consider myself one since my antenna isn't enough but if you want to try it let me know. my callsing at RAC.ca works well

To everyone who answered my request, THANK YOU.

Right now my 2 meter antenna is a small Halo that I'm using to make local contacts undr about 75 miles. Next month (April) when my pension check comes in I am going to purchase a 2 meter Yagi and get it up on the roof asap. I know that I have time to get ready for the June contest so besides 2 meters I want to also get either something for 6 meters or 70cm

I will be back here to make some Skeds when I have a better antenna, if your within about 75 miles of Newark Airport (I'm about 10 miles away) which is the largest point that most people know I can be found mostly during the day listening on 144.200 so if you have a chance give me a call.
