Going through your second childhood? Having trouble working the paddles when your watchamacallit acts up? Well here is a real, working HAM radio. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif

Real HAM Radio. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S-TR6MookdY)

First you go after the NCTs and the thread was locked and now you are attacking the OFs. Has HARRP fried your brains al2i?

Why are you in such a troll happy mood today?

Opps Edit: I throught you were in Fairbanks, my bad.

I thought that was Rush Limburger on TV.

I was amazed at the speed of that threadlock, and I didn't even have a chance to make nice with the hurt feelings. That made me extra-grumpy and uncaring about being nice.

I figure I can just insult the OFs and get away with it because they have had a lifetime of insults and their skin is thicker due to the decades of scarring. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif

Personally, I thought it was pretty funny. But then again, I'm one of those OFs.... the guys that used to laugh at themselves until it became politically incorrect to do so. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif Now, I just sit around and laugh at people who are politically correct. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif

Anyhow... I know this video was the height of stupidity, but I can't help thinking that I could easily modify a radio and make it a HAM radio by putting one of those devices on the speaker. I am actually thinking of several of you who may enjoy that mod as well.

Send the idea to Kenwood. With all the new upscale offerings from ICOM and Yaesu, they might just be desperate enough to buy the idea.

Hello.

First off, Radio Shack sold that thing at one time.
And, you do not need to mod anything, it has a sound input mode, just set it near your ham rig.
Mine is the little cow.
I later went to a hacked furby.
I graduated to the little I-Dog.
Even my Robosapian can dance to the beat, but can also decode Morse code.
Everything but a pig, I go to hamfests to see the talking pigs. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

BTW, this is not the stupidest thread I ever started, but I bet it comes close to a QRZ record. In answer to your questions, yes, my sense of humor needs refinement, and yes, I apolize to the many offended.

It is just a toy. No hams were meant to be harmed by the video of the toy. Watching the video will not cause you to be in danger of priapism, however you may experience some discomfort while keying.

I really want to build a qrp rig in the near future. I was thinking of building it in a Ham or an old Spam can. I am sure it has been done, but I want one. 73, Sean http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

In the March 2000 issue of QST, Ed Hare has an article about building the "Tuna Tin 2". You should have plenty of room in a Spam tin, but if you use the right size ham tin, I bet you could but a battery pack in there to last you a good week of normal operation.

For the first time in many years of seeing the bovine bandit's posts around the internet (and he IS prolific - google his name, he's a wide ranging poster,) I have to say yes harsh, but sadly he's right. # Hamfesters can be nasty gatherings of folks who are indeed festering hams.

A guy I knew used to call it salami radio. My ex-wife called it baloney radio and I think half the time she's right. But what the heck, ham, salami, boloney, they're all horsec**k.

This HAM radio is indeed the best laugh I've had in a long time. # Can you imagine that mouth trying to keep up with 75m?!

Here's a stupid thread I started as an experiment to see how many people on QRZ will take it seriously and possibly have convulsions and die as a result. It's a joke!

Feel free to chime in but don't let on that it's actually an experiment specifically designed to find out to what extent the "Politically Correct" thought police are still with us.

A ham is a cured pig's behind so what's your disease? Never take life too seriously, after all is said and done, you die.

Hello.

Cowthief is not one person.
What it started out to be was an ebay name, for people at DLI in San Antonio to be able to buy things with little fuss.
This is kind of like the old fake name collage students would come up with to get a credit card.
There is one person who heads up this silliness, and that is I.
It was really funny, even for I, to see Arabic students of english, post, even with spell check turned on.
Now you know the secret behind Cowthief.
And, the center of it all?
http://islamicaweb.com/
After 9/11, a lot of Arab people felt that this was a better way to deal with the issues.
