FT-7100M #Output Audio

If you have or planning to get a FT 7100M have Yaesu update the radio. I was not aware of any audio mods until I wrote Yaseu. #There answer is below to a problem with the microphone.
"The problem is not in the Mic rather it's in the radio we have mods to improve the audio for you.The radio would need to come in for service to have the work done."

PLEASE PASS THE WORD ON THE FIX.

MORE INFO ON CHECKING IF YOU HAVE THIS PROBLEM,
YASEU ADVISES the best way to know if you need the mods would be to put both bands in scan and if you hear a popping noise you need the mods.

thanks for the imfo on the 7100m. i was thinking very seriously about ordering this radio, and if it is having problems i may as well wait to see if they get the problems fixed. if i order a new one will it have to be sent back or have they fixed the problem ?

I purchased one of the FT-7100m radios about 2 months ago. I specifically asked for a radio with a "2D......" serial number. I spoke with Yaesu and they said that the radios with the 2D serial number have all of the fixes in place. I love the radio and have never had a problem with it. I am waiting for the FT-8900 details to be announced, as the only complaint I have about the 7100 is that you can only tune one band at a time. It is only a minor inconvenince to press the band button, but sometimes I forget and end up tuning the band I don't want to tune. So if anyone is looking for a used 7100 that is only 2 months old and has all the fixes, let me know. I should be upgrading soon. My e-mail is ke4ozk @ hotmail.com
