What mod do you want? Why do you want to mod your ham band radio? Are you looking to join MARS? Did you check the QRZ home page under radio mods?

I too am curious:
You're new, don't know what the mods are or what they're for. Mods are made for a specific reason; why do you want to mod your radio if you know nothing about the pros and cons of performing a mod, including possible damage to the radio, and probably voiding any warrantee?
If the radio doesn't work to published specs, that would be properly addressed with the manufacturer under their warantee.
(We just don't want to point you in the WRONG direction on the issue.)
Clip the blue wire. NOT the red one.
(Works in the movies, right?)

I am a Red Cross Volunteer in management and would like to mod to Red Croos frequencies on the Yeasu FT8900

That radio receives 28-29.7 MHz, 50-54 MHz, 108-180 MHz, 300-480 MHz, and 700-985 MHz (cell phones blocked). I'd imagine the Red Cross frequencies (or at least some of them) fall within those ranges.
If the Red Cross wants you to have TRANSMITTING ability on their frequencies, it's up to them to get you an appropriate radio. A ham transceiver cannot be used for transmitting outside the ham bands (you know that). It must be an FCC certificated radio, specifically for the band in use.
