As reported on several news networks, via cable & air: the Democrat-led House broke it's word to work five days a week by taking Monday, Jan. 8 off for a football game! Next Monday, it'll be MLK's birthday...the latter I can see, but the hipocracy has already started!
Normal businesses hardly take a whole day off for a night-time event, but I guess they're special- BTW, it was Hoyer that called today's session off....

Hello.
Yes, they are taking Moday off.
No, they are still on a 5 day workweek.
The decision to call Monday off was done on Saturday.
So far, Both the Democratic House and Senate have been chugging away on the weekends.
For months.
The actual sessions have been limited by what can legally be done.
So far, both the House and Senate have done everything needed to establish a functional Congress, having addressed the President and Vice President and nearly the full cabinet.
This normally takes 3 weeks.
The security staff is going nuts trying to keep up with this congress.
Over 5000 security passes have been issued, several thousands have been cancelled.
Over a hundred people have been escorted off the property, mostly Republicans who had an "in" with the prior admin'.
Things like passes have failed, telephone numbers set up in the wrong offices, cars wrongfully towed.
The House went as far as having a bathroom door removed from its hinges, when you got to go, you got to go, and the card reader was having trouble.
So, all in all, not a bad start.
Those DEMS better watch out. The neo-cons are watching!
