I have stated in the past that if they found a way of getting stem cells without killing someone, I would be all for it.
The method is here, go for it.

This method shows good promise, but is unproven at this time.

Getting stem cells now doesn't involve killing anyone. Nonetheless, there is no reason for us to bother spending money on stem cell research, I am sure excellent research will soon come out of Europe, Asia, or maybe Venezuela.

No matter where the cells for research come from, when the real McCoy is finally used therapeutically, they will have to clone cells from the patient to avoid rejection of the tissue. Otherwise, it will be like an organ transplant, which will require the patient's immune system to be suppressed for the rest of his life.
