Internet Ham Atlas website
I invite you to try the new website Internet Ham Atlas
http://www.hamatlas.eu/ which is the culmination of 4 years work.
It contains complete information on all 337 DXCC Entities and has over 3000 pictures and 1100 maps.
I hope you find the site useful.

This is quite a piece of work and it was obviously a labor of love. The maps display wonderfully.
There is one glitch in that on my computer (Mac G4 / Firefox) the main text on the home page runs completely off the page.
I can see where this site will be rather useful.

Your cartography sources are out of date regarding Somalia.
About half a year ago the Northern half of Somalia had a referendum and their people voted to declare independence from the rest of Somalia and did just that. The Northern half has reverted to part of their former colonial name and now call themselves "Somaliland" while the Southern half is still named Somalia. IE: Somaliland and Somalia are now two seperate independent nations.
<center>This more accurately depicts what Somaliland and Somalia should look like now.

What a great site! I really appreciate the time and effort for collecting all that information. The site would be a great learning tool for young students around the world. Keep up the great work and thanks for contributing to this great hobby. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Congratualtions on a job well-done... It is heartening to see our Eastern Europenan and Russian friends contributing so much in the way of innovatons in amatuer radio hardware and software.
The "brain drain" obviously didn't "drain" these countries of trememdous expertise in the art of amateur radio... And I suspect in other fields as well.
The every-day Americans who fought World II oversees and at the factories and farms at home--have always welcomed the academic, intelliectual, and economic progress of the parts of the world devastated by the war... That is why we fought the war--not so the U.S coud dominate the world for decades to come, but for citizens of the newly liberated societies--with some monetary aid and the opening of our higher-learning sysem to any who wished to come here to study--to have the opportunity to realize their potential.
Not letting past Soviet domination dampen their appetite for freedom of information and intellectual pursuits, eastern Europeand lagged behind the rest of the world due to the "iron curtain"... But no more!... Not with the U.S. opening the internet so freedom of information is accessible to all, and that marketing opportunities are available through the internet and the new global econmy, which has eliminated many restrictive trade barriers.
************************
To reiterate, we Americans always had as our goal for the rest of the world to "catch up" with us--and even surpass us if they could... We didn't see ourselves as forever being Number 1!... The same goes for Japan and the rest of Asia.
After World War II many foreigners made the mistake of thinking that the objective of U.S. was the continuance of our domination of the world in technologcal advances, but just the opposite was the case... At lest from my perpspective--as a war baby experiencing the subsequent mood of the country--sure we enjoyed the fruits of the post-war boom econmy, but at the same time the mood of we always wanted to give the rest of the world the opportunity to develop in whatever way they viewed appropriate
We really did reluctantly assume the ascendant position thrust upon us after World War II--in spite of whatever impression the U.S. government, cultural, and business leaders have projectedl
The "real" people of the U.S welcome whatever contributions all people can make to progress on the Earth.
Two thumbs up! GREAT JOB Darek.......................
