I'd post some Motley Crue videos, but think that'd get me banned in short order. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Learning to Fly is one of my favorites. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Plus, if I posted a Motley Crue video, it'd be so cheesy that it should have a MST3k for it. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif Great music, not so great videos. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

I do not like to look at Meatloaf.

I do like REM and the Talking Heads, very good periods in my life. My one reservation about REM is that I believe they are single handedly responsible for the lead guitar ride and solos dissapearing from Rock Radio.
The guitars are slowly coming back though. About time.

Merry Christmas everyone.

'Take Me to the River' is about the Grand River here in Michigan. #Talking Heads did not write it, but they do a great job with it.

David Byrne is a creative genius.

Carla DeVito wasn't too hard on the eyes, though....

Another good response to that would have been a quote from my mother, "Just shut your eyes and eat it!"

In many cases, I might say I like a particular song but might not necessarily consider myself a real "fan" of the band which does that song. #Two good examples... #Talking Heads and R.E.M. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Favorite Talking Heads songs: Take Me To The River, Once In A Lifetime, Making Flippy-Floppy, This Must Be The Place [Naive Melody], Wild Wild Life, and Nothing But Flowers.

Two of my least-favorite Talking Heads songs: "Psycho Killer" and "Swamp."

Incidentally, anyone who likes the song "Nothing But Flowers" should also check out the band Rusted Root. #Very similar styles - in fact, when I first heard the Rusted Root songs "Martyr" and "Send Me On My Way," I was absolutely convinced that they must be Talkiing Heads. #Until the deejay informed me otherwise, of course...

Favorite R.E.M. songs: Radio Free Europe, Can't Get There From Here, It's The End Of The World As We Know It, Stand, Pop Song '89, and... #Hm. #I know there must be one or two more, but they've slipped my mind at the moment. #I do know, though, that I am rather tired of some of their overplayed hits which I didn't really like very much even when they were new. #"Losing My Religion" is a prime example.

Probably arguably the 2nd best video performance on DVD (After the Last Waltz) was theTaling Heads "Stop Making Sense" release. It is worth watching if you like Rock Videos.

Yeah, that'll happen! http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif #I don't have the bandwidth for YouTube here at home - dialup sucks out loud <*sigh*> - but with the high-speed connections at work, I could wander around YouTube for hours on end. #Watching music videos, mainly... #We also have Rhapsody installed in case we need to track down a particular piece of music, and that can burn up a whole bunch o' spare time too. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Somebody's version of Rusted Root's "Send Me On My Way (http://youtube.com/watch?v=72tLBYaDSxQ)" video [with a Stargate SG-1 theme http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif]

I'll have to give that a look at work. #And I can't find a video for "Martyr." #Dangit...
