She offended Tom Selleck on her ill-faded TV talk show. She offended Orientals with adverse remarks about them and now she's being sued by "The Donald".

As far as Rosie goes I know very little about her other than she is somewhat progressive on some issues which all in all I consider to be a good thing. Beyond that most of her stuff is gossip junk that doesn't interest me.
There are so many interesting things to do. Who cares about what Trump and Rosie do. Let them sue the heck out of each other. The whole things probably just an attention grabber publicity stunt anyway.

I agree. Although I think Ms. O'Donnell runs her head a little more often than needed, it's a known fact that the Miss USA Pagent has been slipping in the ratings. I think that his whole thing a publicity stunt to draw attention to the Miss USA Pagent.
Another interesting angle to this is the personal attacks, not only in this current fiasco, but in other areas as well. It seems that personal attacks on someone in the spotlite, wheather it's in entertainment or politics, #TV, Internet, or in print, seems to be the norm these days and America is loving every minute of it. Face it, most of us love a good "smack down". Mr. Trump knows this and appears to be using this knowledge to his advantage.
I think that Ms. O'Donnell might end up being the ultimate loser. She has caused more controversy on "The View" than Star Jones. It's time for Ms. Walters to find another replacement.

I am not a big fan of either of these two, although my wife did get me slightly interested in "The Apprentice" - I've sort of 'been there, done some of that'.
But I am concerned about Miss USA. The story quoted here makes her sound like an angel with a slightly tarnished halo. USA Today makes her sound like a crack 'ho. She be doing lines, lots of booze, and hot and cold running men 24X7. Yet, Trump has pardoned her behavior.
Rosy wasn't hard to look at 20 years ago, and maybe she's got a point here. There is a point between her ears sometimes, too, though.

I didn't especially like Rosie O'Donnall even though she is a native of Commack where I live and was known to my children when she went to High school. Maybe it is because Rosie is a Commackite that she is sort of like me...in that she criticizes many of the same things that I do like gun loving and Bushy war mongering. Commack is middle class New York and that is where Rosie is coming from. We are not mainstream USA but we love the USA. We want to call people's attention to stuff that may make us or break us... even when we know it isn't the popular belief of the majority who don't read more than one newspaper, if that.
Although she lost her magazine and her own TV show...Rosie is now raising the ratings of the woman's chat TV show she is now regularly on. Without Rosie that show would be dull. Yep...If I was a Lesbian from Commack , I'd be just like Rosie...but the fact that I'm a straight man makes me mutually unattracted by Rosie's image but appreciative of her words. You have to use your imagination I guess..If Rosie was a straight man...she could be a top political humorist...like Will Rogers, W.C. Fields, or Fred Allen. You have to give her credit...because I believe that she writes her own scripts. She can't sing or dance but she can speak for herself when she isn't paid to advertise something. Rossie is nobodies dummy.
There is something about Donald Trump that I don't like...maybe because I'm jealous of his success. He really has no talent...just like Rosie..and also like Rosie he has a lot of nerve. I guess I'd have more respect for him if he came from Commack.

Oh ya, not to get off topic, but to answer your Q: Deseret was the great U.S. Territory that covered Utah, 1/2 Idaho, most of Nevada, Arizona, and even went down to Sacremento, California. what is now Utah, lost most of that Territory during the "Utah/United States war" of 1858. When Brigham Young recalled the flocks of settlers back to Zion to fight the approaching U.S. Army. The Colony near Reno pulled stakes and the nevadans took over the Mormon territories and properties just two months or so before the enormous Comstock gold Strike. A couple of years later Abe Lincoln cut a deal with Nevada and gave them the other half of (what's now) Nevada in an early bid for statehood. Honest Abe needed the votes back in washington.
