Mountain-top Radio Videos

SOTA has recently introduced a new video facility.

So if you have ever wondered what a SOTA activation in a gale on a mountain-top is like, check it out at http://www.youtube.com/group/sota .

There are 18 videos so far with more being added each week. They have been filmed in GD, G, GW, HA and DL. Apart from activation videos there are also two instructional videos for newcomers to SOTA.

The SOTA Management Team hopes that more people will be encouraged to take up SOTA and to submit their own videos through this initiative.

You may want to define and explain SOTA. Not every visitor to QRZ.COM will have prior knowledge of the acronym.

SOTA - Definition :- the most fun you can have in a bothy bag on top of a mountain in a howling gale without removing your crampons otherwise known as Summits On The Air is the best thing to happen to amateur radio since someone discovered drinking coffee helps keep you awake when all night contesting.

Is there such a thing for the states? This looks like fun, and living in Montana, I have plenty of mountains to transmit from. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
