BBC 4 should be available to listen to via www.bbc.co.uk/radio4 (http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4) I should think. Either that or there is a link on the southgate ARC site http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/factual/pip/j2rhi/

I just picked the Lincolnshire Poacher up from the airport. All the way to Hunstanton and all she brought me back was 4 cans of beer.

We do get the BBC World Service and BBC 1 on Sirius satellite radio here in the States.

Unfortunately the announcement for this show and the Southgate page that is linked doesn't work. BBC R4 did not add to the show to the replay library, so you could have only heard the show on the air date and time. However, here is the rest of the story. The November 2006 airing was a repeat. BBC Radio 4 first aired 'Tracking the Lincolnshire Poacher' on 23 April 2005. The Web page http://www.simonmason.karoo.net/page485.htm has a bit of the background, a few illustrations and most importantly a link to the 30-minute program. (Sorry, I can't make this a clickable link -- I don't understand what the popup box wants me to do to make the link work.) Do have a listen. It's quite interesting. And for WA6ES, the BBC WS dropped NA as a target almost a decade ago and there was a Web site by Ralph Brandi titled 'Save the BBC WS' -- it created quite a stir and the BBC mailbag shows of the day often referred to it. Brandi, I and about 200 others from around the world discuss all of this listening 'stuff' at a large annual convention near Philadelphia called the Winter SWL Festival (swlfest.com). (About 40% of attendees are hams.) Even though BBC had dropped NA as a target, it's still pretty easy on the east coast to hear the BBC on 15220 early, then 12095 from the late morning until sunset. I know with certainty the west listeners can hear the relays out of the Pacific rim (I just don't have the frequencies committed to memory.). I also listen to the BBC when in the car using a Yaesu VX-6 HT and a small dual-band mag mount antenna (without a coil, the antenna works well through the HF spectrum). Hope all of this helps... 73 de Tom http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif
