I know this will not occur ( and you do too ) but if you could have any LEGALLY available USA FCC callsign for amateur usage, what call sign would you want ?

Example --some one who likes dogs could ask for k9dog..

some who likes witch craft could ask for w1tch , and so on .

That's too easy... I like the one I have. It's the one FCC assigned to me when I passed the Advanced exam back in '96.. If I wanted something different, I'd already have it..

K2ZD is the only call I'd take over the one I have and I can kick myself in the behind for not getting it when I could have in 1977. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Marsie
Aaron and
Joshua

I never cared for the one the FCC issued me, KG4IKS. I thought it was "icky".

If I could get it I guess my first choice would be N2DL and maybe K2DL. The only other callsign I would want is my original callsign from 1978......WD2AHD.

Well, some of my chat names and emails include my callsign, and all the "non-hams" call me Kinzu (like its someone's name) and they think Im Japanese or something.

So I would probably change it, but Id rather get my final upgrade for Extra first before I get it changed to like K4KLC (my initials) or something like that.

I know I'm posting this one 4-days early, but how about

NØEL

or

ALØNE

or

AM1GO, AL5O, AGØON, W3ENI, WHØPIE, WØAH, WØMAN, WØNK...

On second thought, I've held this call for well over a quarter century, I think I'll stick with

Well, you can't have AM1GO because AM is not a USA block. The rest look fun though.

How about N1XON? You'll be working a guy and tell him "name hr Tricky" and they'll wonder . . .

I do like the one I have now, but if I had to choose another, it would probably be WE4RDS.

I have a Ford car, a Ford truck, and a vintage Ford farm tractor. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

When I get around to getting a Canadian licence, I'm going to ask for VE3ISF so I can sign as "I Smell Fish!"

Sorry. Inside-ccrcin joke.

Hi guys,

I'll never forget one Field Day when as N2CUM I worked N0SEX, she and I had a great laugh. Operating as K2VOA wasn't as much fun but Nasty 2 Old Buzzards and We're 2 Dirty Old Rats were good for that slap happy 80M overnight drag.

One of my favorites is W0KIE often heard as The Wookie Satellite Network. As for my personal callsign, KB2 Very Excellent Amateurs is just fine for my egotistical schizoid personalities.

Not only because of my initials, but with that call, I could have my ham call, car license plate and (someday) an aircraft tail number all the same.

Otherwise, how about N1ST [in first] ?

...and RDN, if the FCC assigned callsigns by personality, I'd already have AH0LE ! http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Hello.

You can no longer have an aircraft tail number match any FCC call, including ham is what I was told.
N1TX to N5TX are aircraft tail numbers as well as ham calls.

So, who is correct is anybodys guess.

NE5E

That and AE5E are the shortest CW non-1X1 combos allowed us.

N5E is the 1X1 I'd choose.
