Yeah, well the Dems had better keep their noses pretty freakin' clean from this point forward. They will need to deal with any internal corruption swiftly and harshly.

Hello.

But, read the rest of the story.
The justice department does not want jack in the box.
They would like to have Jack involved in an investigation.
Let me see, Jack in a minimum security facility, one where just about anyone can get to him.
Jack be nimble, Jack be quick, Jack run like hell from bubba with the gat!

"And the Republican hits just keep on coming!!!"

Nope, the election is over.

"They will need to deal with any internal corruption swiftly and harshly."

Need and want are in no way related.

"Let me see, Jack in a minimum security facility, one where just about anyone can get to him."

That much is true, read on.

"Jack be nimble, Jack be quick, Jack run like hell from bubba with the gat!"

Gat nothing, he'll be there with hand forward, palm up. Then it's Mr. Bubba Goes To Washington.

"Abramoff was originally assigned to a federal prison in Pennsylvania about four hours away from Washington."

Yeah, I just drove right into it with no fence and it's lovely country club appearance complete with swimming pool and tennis courts. Is it any wonder the name is White Haven?

"...and former Deputy Interior Secretary Steven Griles, who senators and a former colleague said gave preferential treatment to Abramoff and his Indian tribe clients."

Can you say CASINO? Sure you can! Meanwhile those farther west still live in poverty, drunk and stoned on a reservation in the middle of nowhere. Can you say GHETTO? Sure you can! White man still speak with forked tongue, red man still get screwed.

Ah the life of Jackie, a six year vacation and he'll be even richer when he gets out, money still grows on the money tree. Hey, if you don't believe me just ask Martha.

I believe that I was the first poster here to call attention to Jack Abramoff. #I could be wrong but I suspect that he influenced politicians to do a lot more than has been publicized. #We see him influencing politicians about Indian gambling and Marshal Island minimum sweat shop wages BUT in my opinion he may be one of the lobbyists who inspired the war with Iraq...which is a far greater offense. # I don't think that either Bush or Chaney would start a war with their oily friends without being inspired by lobbyists like Abramoff. # I could be wrong...but maybe I'm correct...but not politically correct.

w2ilp (Instigation Lures Politicians) #If Abramoff could get the religious right wing conservatives to pay for gambling casinos it seems possible that he could help Israel inspire Christian American politicians to wage war with Iraq. #If so he'll make more than a paragraph in the future history books.

E-coli from Taco Bell is now believed to come on lettuce but not on scallions (green onions).

For some reason, I thought of the line from Joe's Garage:
"...he gets seduced by a girl... who works at the Jackinthebox... named Lucille..."

Every once in a long while somebody came out on top.

The Osage were once confined to a worthless patch of land.
Oil was then discovered under that land.
The Osage refused to sell the land they'd been shoved on to.
Now they are very, very rich.

Good. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif

Yep, ain't it like the pot to assume the kettle is as black as it is? It's not like the Repugnicans actually policed this themselves. In fact, you'll find a surprising number of kool-aid drinking neo-cons here that defended some of Abramoff's select of their felonious behaviour.

Just as in this, we also heard them allude in no small way to all of the Democrats that were part of Abramoffs select. Yet, nothing concrete has come out of ANY of that. Could that have been dis-information? It wouldn't have been the first time that neo-cons have done that.

Excuse me if I'm a bit wary of more unsubstantiated allusions. We'll see if these allusions are merely delusions too.

Sorry, got a party to get back to...

No, not really. The BIA (Bureau of Indian Affairs) has mismanaged the funds from the oil revenues for the Osage. It's my understanding that the Osage Nation has a lawsuit pending against the BIA.

They still have revenue coming in from their casinos and gamming operations. As matter of fact, they have a couple of casinos and are currently building another "Million Dollar Elm" casino southwest of my QTH.

Oh. So it was mainly on paper. (sigh) I hope they win.

You may have heard about the various land claims going on in Canada. The old treaties with the Crown have been looked over in detail and some bands are insisting upon justice - and more often than not, winning in court. One of Canada's major cities - I don't recall which - turns out to be on "official" tribal land. Heh heh heh.
