Having gotten the rights to negotiate, if you manage to get a pitcher, it will probably cost $10 Million a year. 5 years @ $10 Million = $50 Million + $51 Million = $101 Million for 5 year contract.
If negotiations break down or if the price isn't right, you get your $51 Million back. This ends the process. Of course, the Yankees don't get him either.
