I found a new Micro Brew today while in Raleigh NC on Biz. The beer is very good and I hope that those of you in the Raleigh NC area will give it a try.
Here's the web site for this brewery: http://www.horniblowstavern.com/
Great Beer good conversation and great folks.
Maybe I might just open my own brewery some day.

Yep Rot sure was. Raleigh is a interesting place.
Here's another Micro Brewery that was recommended to me by a friend. I haven't been there my self, but, this brewery boarders on pure Sacrilege because of where it's located.
Maybe some of you have been there, if so, was it good? Did you repent afterwords?

Unfortunatly, one of the better micro brewers in Raleigh burned down a couple years ago, Greenshields. This was about the time I moved out of town, but I heard that they were not going to rebuild.
Good beer and food. And my kids loved their root beer.

Good Micro Brew is much better than the standard domestic brands and has more kick to it.
Plus it's endorsed by the UTU and BDOA.

I prefer the term "Artisan Brewed"...I artisan brew in 5-gallon batches, it doesn't get much more "Micro" than that unless someone gave you one of those 1-gallon plastic brew your own beer kits last Christmas.
Here in warm-sunny Southern Arizona, I'm getting into prime brewing time. I hope to have a batch of Oatmeal Stout and a Cream Ale ready for consumption for my Thanksgiving crowd. The Laagering will have to wait for cooler temperatures in late December and January.

Many people in Raleigh like a Micro Brew. There are a couple in the city.
There is a great place in downtown Raleigh if you want to try some. It is called "The Flying Saucer." They have at least three dozen beers on tap each night.
Greensheild's ran into issues because of the historical requirements of the neighborhood they were in. It had some great brews.

I wasn't that thrilled with the Carolina Ale House, there selection was mainly domestics.
ka0gkt where did you buy your brewing equipment and how long does it take you to make a batch?
