hey guys, I'm 14 from Ohio.

Running a Yaesu 857D, Yaesu 747GX, with an Alinco power supply, MFJ tuner, an Alpha Delta DX-EE antenna, Heil GM-5, Butternut HF2V, MacBook, and several other things.

How did you guys get interested in ham radio?

I would love going QRO, however... Could you guys throw me a couple hundred bucks for an amp?!

(^ I'm a yaesu man!)

Hey

QRO is not necessary, try being limited to 10W on all bands...you soon appreciate what can be done with this sort of power. For example, last nite I heard some E Coast US on 80m at 2000Z who was running about 50W albeit he had a beam. CW QRP work can also help you to work the world. I have a while to go yet before I am licenced for the UK Legal limit of 400W.

there was an article for making a linear in the RSGBs "Radcom" a moth or two ago...Ill see if I can dig it up and send you a copy, if you want.

Haha, Johnathan, that's cool...

I don't think that 100 watts is quite qro, I used to be a 50 watt-er also, but I have the 100, and when I call CQ or respond to one, I usually run 100 to attempt to get through the pileup. Just a method of mine.

I was joking about a linear also, because I don't think I could ever make one. Us Americans don't have as stringent rules as you do...

I kinda' like it that way http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
