Hello Anybody,
Have you seen some of the low cost 2 mtr & 70 cm handis, made in Aisia, with prices including shipping in the 50-60$ range. The companies are on e-bay with the units made by: Jing Tong, Fei Daxin, Quang Sheng...
I`ve heard some of them on the air and they seem like any other hanndis. Any one have one and do you like it? What is the opinon on these? What do You think?

I have a couple of Quangsheng 2m handys here
To be honest they work fine and open my local repeater (30miles away)
on lo power with no probs at all,
The Modulation seems fine with them as does the recieve
BUT they do seem to suffer with a lot of interference from other sources
A quick scan up and down the band reveals noise quite often
and it can be annoying,
also i couldnt find anywhere to change the Squelch setting which for me was too high
(Granted there is a button to press to open the squelch)
I spose for the cash they are acceptable and i dont have the benefit of comparing
it too a higher priced Kenwood/yeasu etc etc.
The voice output for frequencies is super loud and again i couldnt find a way to
reduce this, but you can turn it off,
The display is clear and easy to read
i would give it 5/10 for recieve (higher if it didnt pick up spurious noise a lot)
9/10 for output
9/10 for modulation
9/10 for build quality
all in all not bad for the price
;)

Hello All,
I guess my question on this is, Are these units from China FCC type accepted??? If there not, Then they should not be sold to anyone in the USA. Is this just another way to flood the matket with cheaply made units??? And undermine the quality made products that are available to us. Just my thought's on this topic. 73.

The radios are inexpensive, not cheaply made. Im quite satisfied with mine, they are better made then some other name brand radios. Im speaking specifically of the FDC (FD-150 and FD-450) radios.
If your knit-picking that far, your already not interested in buying one of the radios, we already posted they are a good value and work fine.

Isn't this a Communist conspiracy, led my Mao himself, to take over the UNited States and implement his program to open chains of chineese laundymats http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif and other unspeakable atrosities, which are too gruesome to even think about? Maybe Mao is in cahoots with George W. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

hi,
i have a puxing 777 and the only fault i can find on it is the audio output level. The built in mic has a very small opening to get the audio to the mic ! One of the popular mods for this one involves taking a 3mm drill bit and opening up the hole a little bit more - give very good performance for the cost.
The puxing comes in two flavours, V and Uhf, the vhf version covers 136 to 174 (including marine) on 156mhz
The puxing takes a bog standard kenwood speaker mic fitting so any good quality speaker mic from kenwood will do just nicely. Had loads of fun with mine and all the features can be found elsewhere on the net.
Package included the radio, battery, belt clip, programming cable, charger pod and Ac to pod lead. oh, and the speaker mic and software and manual.
Good for the money and if you search google, the vco on the puxing and linton series CAN be progged to do other things!!!
regards, 73.
