Quote[/b] ]So if confronted by an October surprise — an even juicier Capitol Hill sex scandal, say, or the capture of Osama bin Laden — only a small fraction of voters might change their world view or their vote. The rest, say people who study elections, will either be unmoved by spectacular news or find it fishy.

Well, it's now November. Just what is the surprise inside??

* October? Surprise! - NO SURPRISE! * (http://www.kansascity.com/mld/kansascity/news/politics/15882370.htm?source=rss&channel=kansascity_politics)

Don't you find it strange that some folks loath Rove but when their boy Carville was pulling similar stunts he was the fair haired lad?

Who are these Neo-Conservatives we hear so much about. By definition it would be some one who is NEW to the conservative philosophy.

That must mean the Liberals who woke up and have realized the error of their thinking and converted to become NEO-CONSERVATIVES !!

Long Live the Neo-conservative,in the Whitehouse, our salvation as a country demands it !! http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

He may be a "laim duct" but I don't think he is a lame duck. #He can run for President again, but I can understand, after his comments, why you would think he can't.

Thank you Dan. Good to see you on here for real.

What office did you say Kerry was running for? This is all the NEO-CONS have is a gaff by someone who isn't running for office. Lame

Geeze Orv, I wish you wouldn’t post stuff that make me laugh that hard when I’m drinking coffee while sitting here at the computer.

What a mess.

Ah yes, the feigned outrage by Bush and co. over Kerry sticking his foot in his mouth, and the slavish parroting of it by those with 12-second attention spans, is so transparent. It would be amusing were those leading these immature antics not in power.

I'll bet none of you ever heard of October 40th. The Neo-Cons, with God on their side, can do anything they want. This time they have decided that October has more than the normal 31 days. This year October has 40 days!! Rove still has time! http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif

Entire books have been written about G.W. Bush's chronic foot-in-mouth disease. Remember his (in)famous performance at the 2006 G8 summit in Russia (that big country)?

So what? Another politician commits a gaffe? BFD. Get over it. I'm more concerned about the medical care crisis, rising university tuition, the rapidly approaching end to retirement as we know it and all the other issues that politicians are trying to cover with a smoke screen, by evoking bogus issues like gay marriage, flag burning, school prayer, ad nauseum.

I clearly recall, during the VietNam era, when remarks similar to Kerry's were made every day and it was just thought of as conventional wisdom. If you didn't have the right connections: the right family, the right school, the right job, know the right people, and/or have the right money, you would end up in 'Nam. The very word struck fear into the hearts of young males coast to coast.

Imagine what it would be like to-day if we were still fighting with a conscripted army.

The country would be in flames.

Also, lots of these chickenhawks we have these days, when confronted with the real possibility of being sent to war, would get anti-establishment and "pacifist" in a big way. They sure don't mind other guys getting sent out to fight and die but that'll change when it comes their turn.

Maybe the Almighty Neo-Cons of Doom are going to name the whole year The Year of October. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif

And from the speech:

Quote[/b] ]As a percentage of the economy, the deficit is now lower than it has been for 18 out of the last 25 years. These budget numbers are proof that pro-growth economic policies work.

So, if the economy is doing better, the deficit looks better when compared to the economy. D-oh! I wish I could run my finances like that.

Gotta love economic relativism.
