I'm staying because of K1OU. And I think I'll re-up when my subscription is done.
He's entertaining.
Besides, the reason I became a subscriber was not for the forums anyway, it was because I wanted to do quicker callsign lookups without all of the ads getting in my way.

Just take a break. Don't let this place get to you. It's the internet, for crying out loud.
Some of the folks in here really do get political and in heated exchanges. They post everything that they can find about politics. That's fine with me; as it's America, and everyone is entitled to an opinion, but remember, that's just what it is, opinions.
As discussed in another thread, most folks in here have nothing to do with professional politics nor government. That means that most folks in here are lay-people in that department, including myself. Government looks different to outsiders than it does from the inside. The same could be said about the pharmecutical industry, hospitals, police departments, road construction workers, teachers, pro football players, etc. Everyone's an expert from the outside looking in. The fact of the matter is that there are divisions in the country, but everyone gets one vote, and just one, and all the rest of it is just a bunch of fla-fla. Take it for what it's worth. I check this place when I get home from work, or even on the lunch hour, but it's more entertainment than anything else. Some folks come here to vent. I guess I come here because it's kind of like a soap opera. You get to know the characters, and it's entertaining to see them interact. Some of these folks, I've worked on the air, and they're all decent folks, even ones you would disagree with. Remember, it's just the internet; certainly not ham radio, and definitely not real life.
I think we need comment from a Moderator in this dispute.

Just to restate the obvious...which isn't so obvious, I guess: if somebody is getting under your skin, just ignore him or her. It always fascinates me how people feel compelled to read text from someone they don't like.
I, for one, don't mind getting hammered by a naysayer (as long as it's civil); sometimes, we're blind to our own folly and it takes a textual whack on the head to make us see things from a different point of view.
Worst case you get mad at someone's post, then defiantly "flip them off" through your computer monitor--it does wonders for one's blood pressure.

I'd suggest you reconsider. Why are you so worried about K1OU's hatred anyway? It's not like his opinion means anything, right? Perhaps you're in the same situation as me. I'm surrounded by decent, well mannered people most of the day. I come across jerks every now and then but not often and if I do I'm not with them very long. This forum is good therapy in a way. It's a window into society that I wouldn't otherwise see. Without it, I might be inclined to think that the vast majority of people out there were like the ones I hang around. Hang around here, and use the situation to your advantage

You replied it is none of my business, which means you have no children. I have two. My Son will graduate next year and my daughter will start MED school at the same time. Unless you have children (which you state you don't have), you do not understand the concern about their well-being. NO GREATER CONCERN THAT A PARENT HAS, BUT, THE WELL BEING OF THEIR CHILD.
