14.275 USB. I didn't realize confrontations this bad were still around. Claims to be running in excess of 2300 watts, and uses the identification of Radio Canada.

Well using 2300W isn't that bad in Canada, since their legal limit is 2250W PEP for SSB.
Karol has been on rather often these days. I don't know what's up with that.
There have also been more threads here about him than usual.
Like I've said before, my xyl fondly refers to that frequency as "the comedy channel." Karol and others are hilarious. He does seem to be a few cards short of a full deck.
Of course, I tend to work any station I hear on 275 that's not mixed up in Karol's mess, and collect cards as part of a "wtf?" collection. LOL
He often refers to the FCC as the "f**got communications commission" and talks about other peoples wives and their t*ts. His famous line is also, "sticks, stones and roadside bombs." He also preaches quite a lot of hate against America and Americans.
What I see here is the sick mind of what is probably a lonely man. Just ignore him and he won't bother you or anyone.
By the way, since you posted here, expect him to email you a copy of his looney diatribe called "the life of riley" which is a 40+ page word doc bashing and possibly libelling W. Riley Hollingsworth of the FCC.

We have plenty of dingleberries of our own, but, most seem to kind of get 'taken care of' if you know what I mean, nudge, nudge, wink, wink, say no more....... but it seems that our neighbors in The Great White North tend to not police themselves as much as we do, otherwise that horse's @$$ would have been off the air a long time ago.

Is this the same guy located in BC that claims that a person in the US jams him and the FCC will do nothing about it.
I often hear the fellow I am talking about and have not heard any profanity or derogatory remarks from him, other than he seems frustrated that the FCC will do nothing about the jamming. Maybe I am confused with a different person. Wish I could remember the call sign, but do remember the location being in B.C.

I heard that he once claimed he was using over 15,000 watts. He used to refer to his "tube with handles."
2300W I guess is to keep him out of trouble, while giving the unitiated the impression that he is engaging in what we like to call civil disobedience. 2300W is only 50W above the Canadian limit so it is unlikely that industry canada will bother him for that.

I once spoke with him on 20 meters, briefly, and remember him wanting to send me a lot of "information", which never arrived. Guess I was lucky there.
Interestingly, of the few times I have heard him on 20 meters, I missed anything really bad. Guess I was still just lucky.

I do recall him stating he wished there were FCC official observers on the frequency, that way they could support his cause by removing the license of a few operators that were repeatedly telling him how much of an embarrassment he was to Canada. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif But yes, I do know what you mean.

He is not just an embarrassment to Canada, he is an embarrassment to amateur radio worldwide.
Trouble is, when someone not familiar with amateur radio, hears the likes of Karel, they assume, ALL amateurs are like him.
Goes back to the adage of a few rotten apples.....etc, etc, etc !!!
Here's an obsevation from someone who rarely listens to HF phone.
I tuned to the frequency tonight to see what the ruckus was about.
What did I hear?
I heard tens of stations interfering with the VE7 station nonstop. There were no ID's. There were noise maker toys. There were recordings of him played over and over. They were very nasty.
All I heard from the VE7 in question is him trying to QSO with someone.
Please tell me again who the bad operator is??

Listening to 14.275 for a short period of time does not reflect what truly goes on there.
One must listen for several periods over several days to gain an insight into what goes on.
As someone else said, they are all wrong.
There is no need for the jamming, childish behavior from the US side, and there is no need for the language, racism, and continuous rhetoric against/about the USA.
No excuse for any party in this free-for-all.
Like a true international urination match.
One side aims for distance, the other side for accuracy.
No winners, just a bunch of losers.

Those who are QRMing Karol are indeed bad operators, but if you listen to Karol's regular transmissions they are a lot worse.
Karol isn't trying to have a QSO. He is trying to broadcast hate speech and the malicious QRM are from those who don't like the hate speech.
Yes, they are wrong. No doubt about it. They shouldn't be engaging in malicious interference against Karol.
Karol also comes up with a lot of power on 275 and QRMs out anyone there, then claims that he is being interfered with.
He also frequently identifies himself as "Radio Canada" and "Al-Qaeda control."

Man, you should hear the war going on from time to time on 14290. The OMISS net starts taking check-ins at 1800Z and this frequency is also used by an Arab net.
I have heard some fierce battles of the right to the frequency which resulted in that neither the OMISS net nor the Arab net were able to perform any communication.
There is also an other Canadian station that "owns" 14115 KHz (i think it was) and he starts his CQ's every morning without checking if the frequency is used by an ongoing QSO or not.
I'm not defending the Canadian operator. I was just reporting what I heard at the time.

Hey, if you ever get a chance to go into that B-17 the Collings boys have, try to squeeze yourself into the ball turret! There must have been some very little guys with a whole lotta guts!
The 'radio room' was neat, too. Lots of ARC-5s, and a BC-348 & it's companion transmitter. I'd love to put that set-up back in operating condition! Who-eee! 75 Meter AM at 30,000 Ft.! Coast-to-coast TVI!

I looked back through the old paper log and I worked him a while back. I've never had any really strange contacts so it must have just been a "radio-antenna-weather-73" QSO.
I don't spend as much time on 20m as I used to but I don't hear him on there. I must be listening at the wrong time.

Well the point was that this is Amateur Radio, and 20M. Not CB, and not 80M. Some of the things you hear on there, especially the sarcastic insults seem better fit for some politically based R-rated movie.

KFM ? Nope, can not hear it today...some station in California is louder , sounds better, less muffled audio and ...just from listening about 10-15 minutes, has talked to Florida, North Carolina, and a couple of other foreign countries.

His web page and email address with Yahoo/Geocities were revoked, nuked, cancelled, whatever you want to call it for distribution of hate speech. He's also being investigated (again) by RCMP. Hopefully IC will get the idea that hams don't like discrimination, obscenity, and violence on the air. Of course, if he goes to prison for awhile he may re-think the whole hate speech thing too.

If everyone would just ignore this character, so that he would have no audience, he would crawl back into the woodwork and disappear.
I stumbled across him once. That was enough. When he is holding forth on *275, simply go elsewhere. Eventually, he would dry up.

Yep....bet he was quite "ill" about that. I know he, or someone he suckered into doing it for him, spent some time setting that up. Well perhaps he should knock it off and quite slandering so many people.
Oh I see where Industry Canada is taking a real interest in the way he jammed me on 14275 while I was trying to pick up a Emergency call.
Come to think of it, I haven't heard the young man on of late.
Oh and have you heard that folks thing Karol is a old man? And cut him some slack for it... In reality he is 57. I am 3 years older than he is. Another lie down the drain, eh Karol.

Issuing a challenge to 'hurt me' is a sure way to get a thread locked here. Next thing you know, it will escalate into a gun battle in the parking lot of a Tim Hortons.
