View Full Version : Who Will Win The World Series?
The American League already has their 4 teams that have clinched:
NY Yankees (home field advantage)
Tigers
Twins
A's
In the NL only the NY Mets have clinched (home field advantage). It will go down to today and tomorrow.
Who go to the Series and who will win??

I was once a rabid Met fan, one of those few who stuck with them through the late 70s and early 80s. A Met-Yankee series was the dream.
The last strike/lockout/millionaires'-baby-fit turned me completely off. I'm still turned off. So chances are I won't notice who or what or when.
This ought to make things interesting. Seems that the Astros two top pitchers are being accused of taking 'perfomance enhancing drugs':

Looks like there's a good chance for another Subway Series here.. Last time the city almost had a civil war. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

My vote is for the Mets.
They were always my team growing up... picked them because my dad was a Yankees fan. Guess I just had to be a little turd...

I wouldn't cheer for the G&(#amn Yankees if they were playing North Korea in a TRUE series.

You have a point, though.
I notice in the Miss Universe Pageant, it seems every damn year the winner is from Earth.
I mean, is that a coincidence, or what? http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
My favorite?

With players from a lot of non-USA coutries too. I'd love to see it become the real World Series though.

The last time I cared the Toronto Blue Jays won. #The next year the players went out on strike, and I haven't cared one whit for MLB since. #
I've gone to minor league games since then; they deliver a much better product than MLB ever did.
MLB is dead to me.

Go TWINS!
Unfortunately, they will have to get past Oakland, who is playing very well right now. I'd LOVE to see them take down New York. I don't think they could get past Detroit. We'll see.
In the NL, I like the Mets. They've been the most consistent team in the NL this year. The Dodgers have looked very good the 2nd half. I got to see them play the Twins in June in an interleague game. The Cardinals COULD win it, if they are on; however, they are not consistent. San Diego is a good story too.
My prediction?
Yankees and Mets...again. IF the Yankees pitching holds out. This time without the Clemens/Piazza sub-plot. I'd probably pull for the Mets, however as they would most certainly be the underdogs.

Agreed.
LETS GO OAKLAND!
And even though I'm also a Raiders fan, I'll accept thier continued 0-for run if it means the A's winning it all.

Gotta root for the home team, like the song says. #GO, DODGERS!
Edited afterthought: #"Home team" can, of course, include the entire state if the situation warrants. #I'll keep Oakland [and San Diego?] as a backup. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
