Does this mean that we will get a new class for Field Day? It could be named Class U or class P QRP and you get an aditional multiplier if you enter in that class. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

1) I am not sure I want to know how this wondrous discovery was made.

2) Field Day Report, circa 2009: "We went QRT at oh-dark-thirty. The beer chairman screwed up and the batteries ran dry."

Does this mean Bear Whiz will start making batteries and power supplies?

I could see it now... At the aforementioned FD 2009, a group of hams are arrested for moving a porta-john at a campground in a vain attempt to acquire more pee-pee to run their batteries with.

With the price of gas predicted to back up next Summer, beer just might be the way to go!

This may soon be touted as the new "Number One" power source! The portable pottie companies may replace the oil companies as the new energy barons... they'll all be singing "Urine the Money."

Before long, electric automobiles may be outfitted with catheters to permit non-stop operation. I'm sure we'll be hearing ad slogans like, "Toyota... When Ya' Gotta Go!"

So when cars run out of juice, will it be a common sight to see people on the side of the road with their hood up peeing on the batteries?

Whirrrrrrrrrrrr whoop whoop . . .

"Sir, I pulled you over for obstruction of traffic. You're driving to slowly."

"Yes officer I'm sorry but my car is electric and I didn't drink enough beer last night for the batteries."

"Ah ok, I understand. In that case I'll have to cite you for DWNIE*."

Heh, so I guess the guys that have claimed you can power a car off of just plain water are right.

They just didn't mention the nessacary processing for said water before it was a viable fuel resource.

And when you pull into a gas station, the attendendant will lift your hood and pee on the batteries?

They will have to make battery hubcaps, so when the local male dog out on patrol decides to mark your tires, your batteries will get a nice charge also!

Separate the hydrogen from the oxygen then burn it. It's been done but not on a scale practical for use.

The problem with separating hydrogen from oxygen is that it will take more energy to do that than the amount of energy you can get from Hydrogen.

As for burning it - not so sure. Aren't current designs for Hydrogen cars using fuel cells?

I saw something on TV that Greenland is almost 100% free from oil. They are switching everything to run on hydrogen. They already have everyone's cars switched over, and they have most of the factories switched.

And they are using natural waterfalls to power the process of getting hydrogen out of water.

N2RJ

I find that hard to believe since there are very few production cars that run on Hydrogen.

Also, do you guys know how we get Hydrogen today? That's right, we process (burn) Hydrocarbons.

YEEOWZER !!

I was on another thread and I found links on how to get your car to run on water (http://www.wam-a-bam.com/hydrockickbank.html?hop=yuparach) and this other one about the hydrogen cell (http://www.water-fuel-online.com/).

# # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # ~~EDIT~~

I had time to read through those links, and they are just advertisements for manuals to build this thing to make your own hydrogen that gets hydrogen out of water and you can run your car on it. #I don't have to do anymore traveling, or I would be tempted to give it a try.

Back around 1960 Allis-Chalmers had a fuel-cell tractor that ran on H2. Only had about 20 HP but with that DC motor the drawbar pull was rather impressive.

Everybody remembers the old HighSchool experiment where you hooked up a battery to a couple of electrodes in some inverted test tubes filled with water. #After a while, the test tubes would be full of hydrogen on one side, and half full of oxygen on the other ( H 2 O ) . #Everybody loved the POP ! that the hydrogen side gave. #Only problem, that was a very short duration POP ! #Certainly not enough for sustained power. #

All this stuff about "green fuel" is another example of "bad science". #Corn sqeezin' Ethenol gasolene, Hydrogen fuel cells, etc. etc. all take more energy to produce than they deliver. #It's gonna take some tall talkin' before I am convinced that "the future is here, today! "
