Hello.

Hanging around in Texas, I decided to listen to the 50 MHz and above signals.
I see a whole bunch of 220 repeaters listed, the only active one I have found across the state is in Austin.
Does anybody even do 220 any more?

Go to any hamfest and you'll see LOTS of hams at 220... 240... 280....

There are a few here.

We only have one 220MHz capable radio (VX-7R) but we don't even listen.

It's no surprise that you don't see too many concession stands at hamfest that sell salad and bottled water. Or soap, for that matter.

Don't work repeaters, very little 220 simplex activity, except for contests, in this area of eastern PA.

well here in the south bay area torrance, redondo bch, palos verdes we have a couple on the local repeaters and here in so calif the need to build 220 stuff is a hit and miss thing but I'd say that there is repeater activity every day here.
