Unfortunately, only a few Democrats asked the tough questions at the beginning of this bloody misadventure.

I am listening a lot more respectfully to those Democrats now.

Both of them?

Unfortunately, there are not enough of the awkward squad in the US. who ask the right questions and expect an answer. Far too many people think the president, any president, has been blessed with the wisdom of a superior being. Wrong !

I guess that leaves you out under your theory, Alberto. You said you were a registered Democrat...

Agreed, Dave.

I wasn't happy with my party's tepid response to the garbage pulled by the Bush administration, but I'm not going to stand by and accept the crap flicked by the right regarding "flipflops" and other nonsense.

Here's some "flipflops" from one of the darlings of the so-called "liberal media", who seems bullet proof during this whole debate. John McCain.

Before one of you starts bleating about the source, note that the quotations are directly from McCain himself. The man HAS shifted positions (rightfully-except for the wrong reasons), yet the right (and the media) gives him a pass.

McCains' flip-flops----Approved by the Media. (http://mediamatters.org/items/200609010002)

Disgraceful.

Even if you reversed the two candidates, I'd have a hard time voting against them.

I am of the Dangerfield wing of the party.

If anyone were to listen, not to even think heed, the shock would kill me. I much prefer walking on my sod rather than stare up at it.

Well, I fell for it at the time. # And a lot of Democrats did, and a lot of Republicans did, too. #I don't think most congresscritters would have supported a total lie.

The total lie came from Cheney, Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz, and their office of Special Plans in the Pentagon, where they cooked the intel and came up with the totally bogus initial reasons for the Iraq War - namely, the claim that Saddam posed a real and immediate threat to the security of the United States. #And that was a flat-out lie.

But that lie was coming out of every media source, thanks to Ahmed Chalabi getting hooked up with Judith Miller. #And it was reinforced by every lie coming from Bush and Cheney and Rumsfeld.

Oh, WMD, WMD, al-Qaeda Connections, al-Qaeda Connections, yellowcake from Africa, mobile bio-weapons labs, mobile bio-weapons labs, yellowcake from Africa, aluminum tubes, aluminum tubes, oh, mushroom clouds, mushroom clouds, Mohammed Atta meeting with Iraqi intelligence in Prague, Mohammed Atta meeting with Iraqi intelligence in Prague, etc, etc, etc. #All lies.

<edit> Oops, typo. #Fixed. #Also bolded #"All lies." #Took three tries.
