National Weather Service Special Event
The Mississippi Valley Amateur Radio Association will activate special event station W9S from the La Crosse, Wisconsin National Weather Service Open House Thursday September 14, 2006 2:00 to 7:00pm CDT. (19:00 to 24:00 UTC) 14.260 and 7.260 SSB + or – QRM. For 8 ½ by 11 inch color certificate QSL KB9YXV with self addressed stamped envelope. KB9YXV is current on http://www.qrz.com #This special event station will demonstrate a quick simple H.F. station that could be used in an emergency for long distance communication. We will pull two simple dipole antennas up a tower and operate from the La Crosse NWS parking lot. The last open house at the La Crosse NWS was in 1999. Please take the time to help make our demonstration a success.
