Looks like I may #have a problem with the 570S. #Will not put out over 35 - 40 watts, regardless of where I crank the knob. #I wondered why my signal reports were getting less than they used to be. #"IF" this is the case, and I send to Kenwood, anyone have any idea of the cost of parts and labor? #73, Gene http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif

Why do you believe the final transistors are bad? Have you done troubleshooting already?

Usually transistors either work fine or not at all. I wouldn't bet on bad finals based only on what you report.

You are Correct! A complete Re-Set solved the problem. Now I will always wonder what happened.. hi hi.. 73, Gene - N3UO

Howdy. Could it be possible you set the output power low by mistake ? Very easy to do with all the buttons on the 570.

Sarge, #I would REALLY like to think that's what did it, but I dont think so. #Would have been pretty hard to do. The power is controlled by the PWR button and then turning a dual-use knob to increase/decrease the output. I dont know of any other way to decrease it. Checked the menus, etc. So, I suppose it may remain a mystery, unless it does it again. 73, Gene - N3UO # "ASA all the Way!"
