Hi Stephen. I hope that you read this because, I'm not ignoring your testing. It is good to see that a 13 year old Australian Ham is testing here. This makes me feel that I, as well as some others should act as gentlemen here, just as we should on the air.
Ham Radio needs young people to carry on its great traditions. Good luck on taking test for higher class ham license.
73,
Bob w2ilp (Ignoring Little People)...is not my thing...and I too make lots of spelling errors, especially when testing.

I add my own felicitations and a wish for your success.
Once done, you will never have to look back with regret, as I once did for many years because I failed the test and allowed myself to become distracted to other things for far too long.
Your present age is probably the best time to start the journey, and your proficiency (and satisfaction) will rise to great heights with the new Sun Cycle.
Sail on, and Godspeed!

Hi Stephen,
Welcome to ham radio and thank you for taking the time to make sure that even your test post was free of spelling errors.
You will find, sadly, that many here are not so respectful of their readers. #You will also find that the advice here comes from types that seem to run the gamut from sap to sage.
I hope you are good at sorting!
Hope to catch you (or ANY VK station actually!) on the air someday.

Congrats Stephen, and again welcome to ham radio. Good luck, and it looks as if you may enjoy some really great HF propagation in the coming years as many of us did in the 1960's.

Welcome to ham radio! I've always enjoyed working VK-land and hope to meet you on the air someday. As a one-time 13 year old ham to a present-day 13 year old ham: enjoy the ride!

I like the SY part of your call sign.

I dunno about VK land for sure but all ham tests in the U.S. (except CW) are multiple choice, so there is no spelling test involved.

VK is now also multiple choice http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Cool, another test, please ignore thread!
Will it keep going? will we take this ignore thread to new heights? Will it outlive the other "testing, please ignore thread"?
And more importantly, is this the epitomy of a troll thread? Is our VK-land friend KNOWINGLY making a mockery of our "testing, please ignore thread" that has stood the test of time?
These questions can only be answered by inquiring minds! Please, the madness must stop!
First EP,s deleted post count, and now a new "testing, please ignore thread!"

Jim, you are very correct, OM...and I don't know if you've noticed, but my posting frequency has gone down quite a bit in the last few months...oh cool, I just has a great idea, yippee!...lets start referring to someone's posting frequency in hertz...
This is from my member page:
6.10 posts per day
So, for me, my posting frequency would be 6.1 Hz
Jim, yours is thus:
3.50 posts per day...thus, you are a 3.5 Hz poster
Dave AL2I, I just happen to know, operates at a higher frequency than I (had to distract attention from my frequency by pointing out another's http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif )
Dave is a 7.94 Hz poster
Not too far from my margin is Rob, KF0RT
at 5.51 Hz
And there are varying degrees of frequency among the members. So, my point is that post counts are not really what seperate the wheat from the chaffe....it is post frequency that really counts!!!....By my observations, Dave and I are "up there", but I have no idea who leads the pack...so, I suggest that we all put it all out there for all to see!
STRUT YOUR STUFF QRZers !!
Be the mega-hertz poster you know you are and come clean with your own posting frequency!

Dave, OM
nothing pathetic at all! I am proud of my posting frequency, and too bad I can't attain the esteemed "VHF" posting frequency...you and I are close to sharing a band, just a few cycles away from each other, but almost "in tune" if our frequency were a radio frequency, I would guess we would be the equivelant of "10 meter ops"
Rob, at 5+ Hz, would be the equivalent of 15 meters
and Jim, in the 3 hz range, he would probably be somewhere on the 40 meter band.
I imagine most of the posters here on QRZ operate on the "80 meter" side of things, but we all know how noisy that band can get at times.
But my question is, are there any real VHFers on QRZ? Who would win that category hands down?
Was EP the leader before his talley reset itself?
I've been looking around, and can't come up with a true VHFer in some of the regulars around here...even kg4kww is on "HF" right now. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif
OK, yes, I need to take you fine folks' advice and step away from the computer...my brain cells seem to be dying at an alarming rate and I am rambling.
I'm going to bed now.
what freqencey is VHF

5 Hz is 60,000,000 meters
3 Hz is 100,000,000 meters.
The amateur radio equivalent of 15 meters is around 21 Mhz and 40 meters is around 7 Mhz.
It's a 300 / freq. in MHZ thing.
