EP's post counter...MODS FIX PLSE!!!

Look, of all the things that have happened recently, this is by far the most disturbing! Robert's post count has become something of an "icon" around here. I supported having his yellow square removed because I was afraid of him being banned and the balance of space and time being disrupted. I can't recall if he ever did get "banninated", but I can assure you, the effects of just the "yellow square" were bad enough!

THE HUMANITY!

I am on bended knee here, QRZ mods, there simply MUST be something you can do! Surely the counter can be reset to at least 10,000...maybe even 8,000....but it needs to be brought back up to a respectable level!


My apologies for starting another thread on this topic, but the gravity of this situation warranted it, in my mind...


So, who's with me? Polls are gone, I know, but if you are for Robert's post ticker getting put back to a "respectable" level, say "AYE!"

This may be true, but you see, we have a "Ryan's" here in town, and yes, perhaps the food is substandard and the salad has that hint of brown and the green beans always have a few kernels of corn in them and the mashed potatoes are lumpy and the fried chicken is dry and the roast beef is tough....but hey, that sounds like every Thanksgiving dinner I ever had, and I LOVE Thanksgiving dinner...so I say instead of comparing Robert to a sub-par buffet, I say we think of him as QRZ's own version of Thanksgiving dinner!

You are too modest, my friend...I understand, you don't want to make a big stink about it...you really are a humble fellow. But somebody has to be in your corner and stand up for justice. Just think of me as your lawyer, and I'm pleading your case. You see, after a while, new folks will be appearing here as regulars on QRZ, and these new people will not ever get the appreciation that the rests of us have for your post total. It will become the stuff of "Urban Legend" so to speak...and these fresh newbies won't believe it...as hard as we might try to convince them. Let me try and shed some light, I think what happened is: post that were of no sense at all were removed so the counter is at a reasonable count for some that may have made sense to someone, who I could not say.

Calculating the actual count is simply 10^(n/10)

Yes: if EP's 'n' = 50 then he actually has made 10^5 or 100,000 posts. #

Robert is hard at work trying to slide the decimal. Soon it will be .03 and then .3, by next week he should be back up to around 3 per day. My mid September they will have to reset it again to save bandwidth and reduce the load on the servers.

Nah, not me. I personally like having a low count for several reasons ---

1) no one asks ME for advice, since they see the low # s and figure I dont know, so they ask some one else.

2) it gives all of you something to brag about ( also something to worry about...when/if it will happen to them. It happened to me @ 12,000...what is to stop the computer from going on the rampage and resetting every one with 5000 or more posts ? )

well, actually, Ryan's is one of the few places left (around these parts) where one can go eat a decent &quot;homestyle&quot; meal without cooking it yourself. Actually, ours isn't bad at all, just very crowded especially on weekends, and thus, with everyone &quot;picking over&quot; the food and swapping spoons from one container to the other and dragging their shirt sleeve across the front container while reaching for a back container, well, IT IS A BUFFET STYLE RESTAURANT...you get what you pay for...but I must admit I do enjoy the food...I was just ATTEMPTING to be humorous and paint a kinder gentler picture of our esteemed colleague &quot;EP&quot;...if you read my post carefully, I show how comparing a guy to a buffet isn't so bad after all.
