Congrats Eric...
Well, one time, three times, or six, it doesn't matter, you have your privelages, and you obviously worked for them. Have fun.

See? Not hard, huh? I figure that if a guy like me, with a hearing impediment (constant ringing in my ears 24/7) can do it, ANYONE can do it.
Congratulations! #http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cool.gif

Move that young whipper snapper to the head of the class and give him a big chocolate cigar.
As you now know the sense of accomplishment out weighs the struggle.
Congrats and hope to hear you on HF soon.

I will be on the air soon... I have my TS-440, but when I plug in the Yaesu Mic that came with the used rig, the "On Air" light is on constantly... so I think there is a problem with the mic... My straight key is working, so if I get the guts to try it (after some more practice of course...) and as soon as I rectify the mic situation, I should be good to go.
Eric,
KE7EDW/AG
I'm sure the pinouts for the Yaesu mic don't match the Kenwood radio. You'll need the pinout diagrams for both, then you can re-wire the mic to match the radio.
Oh, and congrats on the upgrade!
U don't need that mike to work CW anyway...
put it in the closet where it can't bother anything, plug in your key and get to it....practice makes perfect.
Congratulations.

Wondering what you used to study code with?

Eric ,
Just pick a frequency for us to sked a CW QSO . Makes me no difference at all . I'm always ready for a slow speed contact . Besides , I need to practice with my J-38 . Congratulations on the upgrade . Good job well done , and all the etceteras that go along .

I used G4FON towards the end... I started with the ARRL Morse Code Practice CD... then I tried Code Quick... and then finally G4FON every night for an hour... that is what finally worked...

Randy... That sounds good... let me get some antenna issues resolved and then I will get in touch to schedule something. Which band do you use most? I have a 20 meter inverted V but it doesn't seem to be working really well, so I will be working on some projects in the next couple of weeks...
