I would like to offer some advise regarding a tower.
If you want it delivered, ORDER IT FROM A HAM RADIO VENDOR WHO TAKES ORDERS FOR THEM. You'll get it new, and EXACTLY what you want. Have a hefty bank balance, because new tower and truck freight from the tower factory isn't cheap.
OR, find a friend with a pickup or rent yourself a trailer and put a WTB listing on QRZ. In the ad, tell people your location and that you will pick it up.
I used the second method as I have to live on a fixed income. A very generous ham sold me 50 feet of Rohn tower with top section for a VERY LOW price. I will always be grateful to him for providing me a tower that was in very good condition and that I could afford.
All that remains now is getting the guys from my club over for a antenna party!
