View Full Version : THE DEMS AND WAL-MART
The libs love to hate Wal-Mart, they also love to own their stock.

Quote[/b] ] Mr. Lamont and his wife jointly own two accounts containing as much as $16,000 in Wal-Mart stock. Their Wal-Mart holdings spin off as much as $3,500 in annual dividends. Hmmm 3500 annually from 16000 of WMT stock - thats a yield of almost 22% - damn - I'm calling my broker.
Quote[/b] ]In addition, a trust fund he set up for one of his children contains as much as $15,000 in Wal-Mart stock and spins off as much as $1,000 in dividends.
But the kids only get a 6.67% yield ? Edit - maybe that's the total fund return instead of just WMT
Standard and Poors report lists Walmart as paying a 0.67 annual dividend per share - at todays market price that's only about 1.5% annual yield. #
Sorry, I have to pass on this one. #If Hurt can't get his numbers straight what kind of credence can I give the rest of the story?

WMT Performance
WMT is down but S&P rates it as 5 stars - a strong buy. quality rated A+ and a twelve month target of $56. #
Dunno, but if they're right a purchase at today's price could yield over 24%.

3XR - I'm not debating your premise that WallyMart is tied to politicians and for that reason I'm not going to wade through the rest of your links.
All I am saying is when a reporter starts getting his facts wrong he loses all credence with me.

Citing a bunch of sources that base their articles on the original questionable article, as these do, does not validate the original article.
Also, none of the articles mention whether Lamont owns the Walmart stock directly or if the stock is held as part of a fund. It's almost impossible to select a fund with reasonable ROI that doesn't hold at least one politically questionable stock, no matter what your political position is.

K9KXQ,
Is that not the traditional Democratic way , every one puts their Tootsie Pops in a bowl and the teacher divides them up between the haves and the have nots.
That's a familiar system for Democrats it has been around since the days of Karl Marx !!

Totally agree. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
Please tell me where in the world there is a law saying that you can't milk a cow you don't like? Afterall, it's the same kind of relationship that Walmart has with the employees.
Hypocrisy, no. Karma, yes.

Orv, I must apologize for not replying sooner, I had a very hard day here on the farm, you know that taking care of the hogs, chickens and milking the cows, had to get me an afternoon snooze...
To answer your question, is that not the American way to share with your neighbor, instead of being a greedy fat kid who eats all the candy, and wants yours too, just as our present administration does, similar to a Robbing Hood, but opposite, steal from the poor and give to the rich, the way Hitler did and your hero GW Bush...

They're having a sale next week. Undocumented alien employees will be sold for INS export to country of origin at fifty cents a head and green stamps instead of green cards.

You're talking about a sale at Great Wal of China Mart, right?
$30,000 in stock? I wonder how many $million in oil company stock the Bush family has?
I don't know much about Lamont, and I don't support him in the primary election, either. But I don't see much of a conflict there.

Wow, Jim! How are things at the collective? You know, the one with the Henry amp and other cool toys?
