I have recently been introduced to ECHOLINK** and have been wondering as to how i would be able to send from my handheld mobile, to the repeater with ECHOLINK** software installed over the internet to a certain remote repeater.??
Care to explain how i would go about doing this?

EDITED by myself because I made an err in judgement.
The answer is pretty simple, you need to get in touch with the owner of the repeater with EchoLink installed and ask if you can have the DTMF codes for his link. I am sure he can explain to you his codes and how to use them. It's been a while since I accessed EchoLink with an HT, but it seems like you punch in a special code and then the specific node number, and then there is a special code to disconnect when you are through. There is also the random link function, etc. Again, the node operator will explain the codes to you.

Well it shouldnt be to hard to get the code, as the guy that owns the repeater is the guy that administered my test, and i have contact with him every day. THANKS A TONN!!!! YOU SAVED ME A ####LOAD OF TROUBLE!!!! because on ECHOLINK**.com it only shows how to use it with your Computer. BUT THANKS A TONN THIS EXPLAINS EVERYTHING!!!

Nevermind, maybe you are Canadian, since you spelled ton with two n's.

LOL, nothing wrong with that. I like linguistics, and it's just interesting figuring out the differences.

Well echolink links you to repeaters all over the world in 158 countries with something as simple as your handheld, you just type a code into your keypad with a repeater that is hooked to echolink, the repeater tells you you are linked, then you type in via keypad your signals destination, then talk away!
